Embodying the essence of moe – a deep attraction towards idealized characters in anime and manga – Karin, Amy, Miki, Hiromi and Hikari are the three-dimensional, physical manifestations of Mr.’s personal fantasy and obsession with otaku culture. The sculptures feature many of the signature styles found in Mr.’s iconic paintings and drawings. The kawaii (cute) large doe eyes and innocent, submissive stances in their school uniform and pre-teen fashions, act as symbols of purity.
